Hey, y'all! Sorry for the delay in posting; I try (desperately) to keep the series on a pretty regular schedule, but sometimes things don't always go according to plan. GAAH! Thank you for your patience. *mondo group hug* :)
This week's card is very graphic and has a masculine vibe--but I love that it's still kind of "airy" and light, UKWIM? It's easy to get "dark" (and sometimes kinda dreary!) with masculine cards and I was trying to avoid that. I'm also still clinging to summer--we've had absolutely FANTASTIC weather this summer here in the PNW and I'm trying to suck in all the sunshine I can. LOL!
This detail shot is a better angle to show the depth/dimension created with the layers. Love that "dang" flair--it is from a
SUPER FUN set by Teri Anderson for Technique Tuesday, called
"With Flair". Makes the perfect accent! Another great set I have my eye on is
"Fun Flair" by Ali Edwards, chock full of more great sayings and, of course, Ali's awesome handwriting!
Enamel Dots. I love these things as much as the
sequins! We're out of stock in the shop right now, but expecting a whole new array of colors to arrive--I just used what I had on hand (
and have been hording... *hangs head in shame*)
Stripes. I NEVER tire of stripes! Not sure if it's the military brat in me, or just the idea of gloriously perfect straight lines, but this
Thick Stripes background stamp by Impression Obsession is one of those staples they'll have to pry out of my cold, dead hands to part me from it... True story!
By the way, that color of grey ink is called "
Soft Granite", a Shadow Ink by Hero Arts. Let me tell you, I'm
waaaaaay particular about shades of grey.
WAY PARTICULAR. If ever there was a *perfect* shade of grey ink, this one is it! I love it so much, it literally sits on my desktop in a bin where I keep my staple neutral inks for every day card making.
