Labor Day weekend usually signifies the end of summer and that autumn is on its way (although someone definitely needs to notify Mother Nature to turn the heat off down here in Texas!). So I felt these darling Lockhart Party Lanterns would be a nice way to say goodbye to summer and hello to the recepient of this card:
I stamped the group of three lanterns three times across the bottom of a Solar White panel and then colored them with Copic Markers (BG13, RV63, YR12) and festive, sparkly Copic Atyou Spica Glitter Pens (Lemon, Melon, Orange, Pink, Turquoise), to match the pretty Lily Bee Buttercup patterned papers I chose.
TIP: Keep what you would consider your "springy/summery" patterned papers close at hand year round for festive party invitations and birthday cards! You might also want to consider stocking up on these end-of-the summer papers when they go on clearance!
A Memory Box Mango notecard, which matches the patterned paper, was used as a quick card base. I matched up the lanterns with this great Hero Arts ClearDesign Say Hello sentiment and stamped it with coordinating Memento Rose Bud ink onto a white Inchie Arts Inchie + Square. The square was framed with a black Scallop Square die cut. Yellow Stickles dotted around the lanterns finishes the card.
I hope the end of summer has come to your part of the country but if not -- enjoy the last of the long warm days & nights!
