Artful Cardmaking with Joanne Sharpe
It’s such a thrill to share my Art Gone Wild “Artful Cardmaker” stamps with unlimited possibilities. When I created this collection, I wanted an interactive system that could stretch your creative choices, and your craft supply dollars!
Currently there are four Artful Cardmaker themes: BUTTERFLY, HEARTS, FLOWER and LADYBUG. Simple and sweet. Each has a coordinated pack of Artful Cardmaker sayings (purchased separately) that fit in the blank area in each design. With 4 card front stamps, and 4 sayings packs you can start with creating 48 different themed cards!! that you can mix and match with each and every stamp, all 12 sayings fit into all 4 cardfronts. Okay, enough math!
I love to color. It’s relaxing, meditative, expressive and therapeutic. These are coloring stamps, drawn to color exclusively. Here we go with the unlimited possibilities again with so many tools to color with, the favorite things you already have.
Here are my Top Fifteen Coloring Ideas:
- Copic markers
- Tombow watercolors
- Memento watercolor markers
- Faber-Castell Artist brushes
- Twinkling H20s or Perfect Pearls
- Sakura Glaze pens
- Watercolor paints
- Paint with reinkers
- Colored pencils
- Inktense pencils
- Watercolor pencils
- Sharpie markers
- Pan Pastels
- Acrylic and India Inks
- Glossy Accents and dimensional paints
So just imagine if you used these 15 techniques on the 48 Artful Cardmaker styles you will create 720 DIFFERENT cards with just these 8 little stamp sets! Now that’s what I call interactive and purely economical. By choosing your favorite colors, palettes and tools each is “Artfully You”.
Here are three of the Butterfly design created in three different mediums done in (l. to r.) Copic marker, Copics with Glossy Accents highlighting the wings and Twinkling H20s.
When painting the image with water based pens and watercolors ink the stamp using solvent based inks (Ranger Archival) or permanent inks. If using alcohol based products such as Copics, you will want to ink stamps first with dye inks. (Memento or Distress Inks)
Embellish the card fronts with stickles or glossy accents for extra pop!
Decorate with dimensional paints to enhance the colored elements.
Try different color stories using the same stamp. The possibilities are really endless, aren’t they?
Enjoy the plethora of artful cards you can create with 12 thoughtful sentiments that are sure to fit all occasions. Using the Artful Cardmaker collection beautiful cards and expressions are “artfully yours”!
