This past year, I'm finding myself in a place I never thought I'd be.I seriously cannot get enough of die cutting. The more I play around with my die cut machine and various dies, the more I realize that the possibilities are endless.
One of the products that I absolutely love to die cut is Craft-a-Board or chipboard. They are basically the same product but I love that Craft-a-Board is a very light off-white color and can be altered in so many ways. The idea of creating a Craft-a-Board mini album popped into my mind a few weeks ago and I just had to put it high on my to-do list. I was thrilled with how this project came out and how much fun it was to create.
One of the most fun things about this project is the use of the Tim Holtz On the Edge dies for creating different shaped borders on edges. To create these unique pages, simply cut as many 6x6" pages as you wish out of Craft-a-Board. I've covered mine with 6x6 papers from the beautiful Sweetness line by Pink Paislee.
After you cover the pages, die cut the right edge with any of the On the Edge dies for a beautiful look.
These dies also cut Crystal Clear Plastic Sheets which make lovely inner pages as well. In the above photo you can see this clear sheet in the album and I've placed some gorgeous Sweetness rub-ons on these clear pages to embellish them.
Here's a page with the Flourished Edge Border...
And another with the Bracket On the Edge die.
To put the album together, punch holes with a Crop-a-dile and use binding rings to keep it together. I love using these rings as you can always expand your book whenever you wish.
Varying the edges makes for a beautiful book.
I couldn't resist using a few more beautiful Sizzix dies to embellish my cover. Becky Olsen makes the most stunning roses using the Tattered Florals die. You can find her stunning tutorial in Ellen's Premiere Ezine.
Every album needs a theme and I decided mine would be my family. The Prima Letters are a beautiful and easy way to add text. They take ink extremely well and I've sponged on Tattered Rose Distress Ink here.
