Following up with Ellen's post on Monday about "Black, White and Yellow INspiration", I decided to give her suggestion of a black, white and hot pink color scheme a try since it's one of my favorites! Thanks for the inspiration, Ellen!
I chose Lockhart Stamp Company's Roses In The Window stamp to do a spotlighting technique with an Inchie Arts Ivory Twinchie Square. I began by inking up the stamp (upside down on my table top) with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Then, with the stamp still sitting on the table face up, I was able to place the Twinchie Square over the window portion of the stamp exactly where I wanted it and pressed the Twinchie Square into the stamp.
Next, I used Copic markers to color the window image by concentrating most of the color on the roses & foliage, with just some other light accents on the curtains (RV00) and window detail (W1). Here are the Copic marker colors I used (and Melon Copic Atyou Spica Glitter Pen):
The next step was to stamp the full window image onto Neenah Classic Crest Natural White cardstock and die cut it with Spellbinders Nestabilities-Labels One die. I also shaded some of this full image with the W1 marker. Next, I used my Copic RV17 marker to carefully color the embossed outer edge of the die cut image:
Then I used Zig's 2-Way Glue Fine Tip Pen around the pink border of the die cut and covered it with Glitter Ritz's Warm Highlights Transparent Micro Fine Glitter. Alternately, you could use the colored glitter of your choice but I find using a colored marker first, then transparent glitter over it, sometimes works a little better for me.
Next, I adhered the Twinchie Square to my die cut image using my new favorite adhesive I haven't talked much about yet -- the Glue Glider Pro. This permanent adhesive is strong enough to hold most anything -- even the weight of the Inchie Arts 2-inch square piece of matboard! Then I popped up the label die cut image with foam tape to my Memory Box Licorice notecard base covered with a 4"x4" piece of Jenni Bowlin Vintage Black Line Mini Paper on the right and a piece of Vintage Red Line paper on the left side. I placed a row of Hero Arts Assorted Crystal Gemstones (pink, darkened with my Copic RV19 marker) along the seam of the two papers, for an added pop of color.
I tend to leave sentiments off card fronts so I can use the card for whatever purpose I'd like in the future, just by adding an appropriate sentiment to the inside. But the left side of this card would be a good spot to add a sentiment tag turned vertically.
