I love hanging pictures on my wall as a kid (and I still do) I hope that this is a project that you can see yourself doing with a special child or two in your life. I altered a Maya Road embellishment tin...and it was OH SO EASY to do. Weather your little one would display photos of her and her BFF or that dreamy boy that she oogles at school (along with his phone number possibly), this project can be enjoyed for any child at any age.

start by punching and die cutting butterflies from a magnetic sheet. They work beautifully with a metal tin.
I also punched the same shapes from patterned paper. I thought that black crystals would be fun to add to the butterfly centers, so I cut them from a full flourish.
I cut down 2 journal papers to fit on the inside of the tin and rounded the edges with a corner rounder punch.
The paper butterflies are adhered to the magnetic base in the center only so that the wings will stand out and add dimension. I then added white lace to the inside walls of the tin with a liquid glue.
I added liquid glue along the outside edge and adhered green lace along the rim.
a little dab of liquid glue once again..to the tip of each lace design is all it takes to adhere them to the inside of the tin.
Here is what it looks like when it's complete. Covering that metal edge gave it a finished hand made look.
I punched a hole in the bottom so that a tag message could be hung. You can mass produce possible message tags that can be hung from this magnetic wall hang. Messages like knock first, I am not home, go away or text me maybe?
It's easy to add ribbon to the back to hang on the wall or a door knob.
Make more than one and arrange them side by side on the wall (some vertical, some horizontal) Make them into shadow boxes. Embellish the clear lid and showcase keepsakes in the box and display on your wall. I hope that I shared enough basics to make this project your own. Have fun!
