Start with a beautiful vintage/shabby paper. The frame in the center grabbed my attention, so I used a scrap paper as a mask, so that the stamped image would be confined.
Now it looks like it was meant to be there.
I colored the entire base with the lightest color and added low-lights with the darker one. I didn't worry about staying in the lines, because I wanted to give it an aged look.
I love Maya Road's birds, so I thought one would be cute to add as an accent. I traced the chipboard pieces onto the front of my paper. I usually draw on the back to hide the traced lines. But in this case, no one will see the pencil marks because they will be sanded off.
Notice how there's some paper hanging off the edge. Rub that off with a sand block.
Now you have a "distressed" cute bird!
Add some green color with a Copic...and add Stickes for sparkle and shine...this adds to the "cute" side, I think :)
The paper already has a clock on it, but it's a bonus when you can add a dimensional accent
Put tape on the bird and stick onto clear clock. Add adhesive on the clear clock, where the bird will cover it.
Stamp sentiment in the center and adhere the bird and clock to the bottom.
Utilize patterned paper when you see an element "peeing", like with this butterfly.
Cut into it where the slit won't be seen...and begin to ct aroudn the butterfly, being careful to cut the top and bottom, all the way down.
Here's how the butterfly will look
sand the edges and machine sew some zig zags to add to the Vintage feel...along with trim.
thank you for popping in today :)
