Good morning! For today's CLASSroom post I had fun playing with some new Graphic 45 Romantique papers, Stampers Anonymous Urban Tapestry stamps, and Tim Holtz Alterations dies (On the Edge Brackets and Tattered Florals). My card is oversized, almost 5" square. (I have some 5-1/2" square envelopes that I was hoping to be able to use, though I think I let my leaves stick out a bit far to fit into the envelope after all.)
After choosing my papers and stamps, I started with the Brackets die and cut my card base edge, mat layer edge, and patterned paper edge. Lining it all up was a bit tricky, but a few light pencil lines helped.
Next, using another patterned sheet from the Graphic 45 Romantique 8" x 8" pad, I used the Tattered Flowers die to cut several flower layers, which I sanded and distressed with Old Paper Distress ink.
I used the largest flower to cut a green flower and then cut it apart to make leaves. On the left you can see the flower center and the one "leaf" that I haven't cut off yet.
I stamped some greenery from the Urban Tapestry set on the lower right corner of my card front, where I wanted to put the flower. The center of the flower (which I changed out at the end) is from Prima's Say It in Studs Coffee pack. I also used the green distress ink to ink the edges of my leaves before creasing them with my fingernail.
I stamped the sentiment from the Urban Tapestry set , notebook-punched its top, and distressed its edges. Then I added some Tattered Rose distress ink with the stipple stamp in the same set.
I love the tattered flowers die! It is imperfect enough to look realistic. Thank you for visiting the CLASSroom today.
