Good morning! Today I have an all-purpose card to share with you. I had been wanting the Hero Arts Cling Large Flower ever since I saw Jennifer McGuire use it on a gorgeous card once; it looked like a fun image to color! I began with a Latte card base from the Earth Tones card pack, stamping the Antique Cling Writing stamp using Latte Chalk Ink.
Next, also using the Latte ink, I stamped the Cling Write Your Own background on ivory cardstock, and turning it upside down, I used the Punch Chalk Ink to stamp a sentiments from the Anytime Messages set.
Now for that big, beautiful flower; seriously, doesn't it have the most graceful lines? I stamped the flower in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with the Copic markers shown above. Next I carefully trimmed around it. I also trimmed down in between a few of the petals so that I could curl them a bit. I colored the very center of the flower in black--first time I think I've used my black marker!--and the outer parts of the centers in shades of gray. I wanted a dark, dramatic center so that the gemstones would look dramatic.
I colored the scallops on the Write Your Own background very carefully; Copic marker tips can get clogged by the particles in chalk inks, so I carefully colored up to the line, not actually touching it. (It's probably best to use Copic-compatible inks, but I was having fun with my new Hero Arts chalk inks!) Lace is from Prima, and buttons are from my stash.
Thank you for visiting the CLASSroom, and we all hope you have a lovely Easter!
