With Mother's Day just around the corner, I thought I'd pair up some sweet Jenni Bowlin papers and a floral Memory Box stamp and get creating.
Soft whites, vanilla and pink is the main color combo for this design. My card base is created from Neenah Classic Cream cardstock and I've used a layer of Neenah Solar White cardstock as a mat for my patterned paper layers. These cardstocks have a beautiful heavy weight and are wonderful to work with. The Jenni Bowlin mini papers come in 4x4" size and are so sweet. Perfect for cards and small projects. Here I've used Baby of Mine with Vintage Black Line mini papers. I love how well the lines mix and match.
I've recently been on a twill bow-making kick and love making a double looped bow tied with a button. They're super easy to create.
First cut approximately 18 inches of twill tape and then loop it in your fingers so that there are two loops on each side. You are folding it in an accordion type fold.
Take a piece of twine, embroidery thread or fine ribbon and knot tightly around the bow. Make sure the knot it tight so that the ribbon will not pull through.
Thread ends of twine through a button and tie. Here I've used a Jenni Bowlin Vintage Sew-On Button in pink.
Fluff up loops of your bow as desired until you get the look you want.
Vintage and text are very much in style right now. I thought I'd add some extra dimension to this lovely Memory Box stamped image, Vintage Peony Combo, by stamping it onto some of the Jenni Bowlin text paper. While I love using Copic Markers, I thought a softly watercolored look would add color and fit in well with the vintage look. I used a slightly wet Studio Artist Brush and picked up color from my Worn Lipstick Distress Ink Pad. For the leaves, the new Crushed Olive Distress Ink worked well.
The two stamped and cut out images were layered over a Paper Doily, and also grouped with some Mini Gypso Flowers and a Maya Road Vintage Pearl Trinket Pin.
To create your own sentiment, these sweet little Tiny Type letters are perfect for spelling out whatever you wish. Finally I added in a Zva Creative Pearl Flourish to finish off my card. This card could be easily changed up for almost any occasion by simply changing the sentiment.
