With Easter around the corner, I thought I'd come up with some fun decorations to display around your home or create as special gifts. These are so easy...and there's plenty of time to whip some of these cuties up for your festivities!
Supplies:
Basic Grey Woolies, Sugar Rush, Basic Grey 12"x12" Collection Pack, Nook and Pantry, Basic Grey Buttons, Kioshi, Basic Grey Brads, Offbeat
Cosmo Cricket 6" Mini Deck Paper Pad, Material Girl, Cosmo Cricket 6" Mini Deck Paper Pad, Garden Variety
fold the 6 x 6 patterned paper in half. Draw a chick shape, making sure that it has a fold at the top. Draw a wing. Cut your pattern and fold the chick body with the pattern facing out.
bend the paper clips for the chick's legs.
poke a hole through the chick so that the eye will be in the same position on both sides. Add a small brown brad on both sides. Use heavy tape to secure the paper clip
I used dimensional dots for the birds wings to add dimension, but I used double sided adhesive for the point so that it's held down.
You may need to bend the paper clip to give the chicks some support. I think they have a "folk" feel to them. Give them as a teacher's gift to display on a desk maybe?
Next we will make a door cone (I am sure there's an actual name for it, but I don't know it. I just know that i have seen them and always wanted to make one). Draw a large curve in the 12 x 12 paper and cut along your line
Roll the paper, and you will have a cone! I used liquid glue to hold it together.
Pleat paper and staple in place along the rim of the cone.
Cut two, 1 inch strips of paper and adhere one to the back of the other so that it's the same color on both sides.
add the handle and embellish with fun felt stickers. I filled mine with festive plastic eggs, but a flower bouquest woudl be a nice touch to your front door.
I plan to make a zillion of these paper egg holders for my colored eggs this year.
Just cut strips of paper, add a sturdy tape to one end, and create a ring.
embellish the rings with paper flowers and playful button centers. I distressed the top edge a bit to add interest. You can stitch on them before adhering or ink the edges to give them an aged look.
You can also use them as napkin rings when the holiday. comes to an end
