Welcome to Day 8 of the CLASSroom’s 12 Days of Christmas. Karen Lockhart has some new images to be released soon, and this darling "Love in the Window" is one of my absolute favorites. As it turned out, it is also the perfect size to alter a baby food jar into an easy gift jar.
The image was stamped with Memento’s Tuxedo Black Ink and colored with those wonderful crème de la crème of markers… COPICS!!
After coloring the image, I cut it out and punched two small slits on either side to thread the ribbon through.
After threading and tying a knot on one side, I put a strip of double sided sticky tape on the back before placing it on the jar.
Once the image was adhered to the jar, the (gingham) ribbon was wrapped around it and threaded and knotted through the second slit.
Just a note: To make sure that the slits are a bit sturdier, I would recommend adhering a small second layer of cardstock on the back of the image where the slits will be punched. With the slits punched through two layers, it would allow the ribbon to be pulled a little tighter before tying off the second knot without worrying about any tearing (like on mine below) and thus avoiding some minor repairs!!
The jar is finished off with another new Lockhart image called "IB Rosebud Heart". It is also colored with COPICS, cut out and then adhered to the lid.
Thanks for dropping by the CLASSroom today!
