Eleven of the latest Lockharts!!! I didn't use that many for my project that I will be sharing. I used five of the new images, and they are so sweet!
To prepare for the project, stamp the images onto Neenah Solar White card stock with Black Memento ink and then trim the smaller ones into 1" squares. Trim around the Mailbox so that you are close to the image and have a nice rectangular shape.
Also trim an inch strip off of a few varied pieces of Sugar Rush patterned paper and then trim again into 1" squares as well. I used a floral, plaid, word and plain to get a nice balance of color and pattern.
Get out a few of your Copics (or colored pencils if you wish).
Color inside the lines, but if you miss a little (like I do!) you can gently brush the color back in with your blender!
Let's get our tag ready for all of this fun color! Brush Painterly Pink Studio Paint onto a #8 White tag.
Stamp your Distressed Grid Scrapblock onto the surface to create a very cool negative into the surface of the tag.
I really like this technique and we won't get to see enough of it when this project is done, so I will be showing this again in the future!
Place the patterned paper pieces and colored images onto the tag with a little adhesive on the backside. You won't need very much, just enough to tack it into place.
Make sure that you like the arrangement of your little pieces, and then turn on your sewing machine and set it to a narrow zig zag stitch. Mine was set at 2.0 wide and 1.0 long. Now stitch along all the edges, we will have a super cute quilted look when we are done.
Now stitch around the mailbox with a straight stitch, it will seem weird to not be sewing it onto anything, but we will be adhering it with dimensional adhesive so it has more visual texture so don't worry!
Now stamp the darling love sentiment and trim into a little banner shape, color with a pink Copic and then stitch onto card.
Loop Celery Green Silk Ribbon through the hole in the tag, and then place a few of the Prima Mini Gypso blossoms through the hole and tape onto the back to hold them into place.
And now we are done!
Thanks for stopping by to play!
