Merry Christmas! I hope you are enjoying a beautiful Christmas . I have an inspirational card to share with you today with some ideas that you can incorporate in your projects, all year through.
I love adding clear layers to cards. They can help break up the design or highlight a particular area on your project. In this case, the clear layer does both.
To create the main part of the card, I pulled together some beautiful prints from the Jolly By Golly 6x6 paper pad by Cosmo Cricket. This is such a fabulous line to get both traditional and fun looks from. The card base is a Robin's Egg Notecard by Memory Box.
The three patterned papers were laid out and then stitched together to form the layout for this card. Simple stamping onto patterned paper is a beautiful look and so easy to do. I've used Black Memento Ink stamped directly onto the green patterned paper. Black and white silhouettes are so beautiful and are also super trendy right now so the image is all you need. For this project, I've used Manger Scene by CHF, but Three Wise Men, We Three Kings or Trumpeting Angel would look beautiful as well.
To create the clear star overlay/ornament, I used the Crystal Clear Plastic and die cut it with the Nestability Stars dies .
To accent the edges of the star, I used a white Adirondack Paint Dabber to easily swipe paint around the outside edges of the plastic. The sentiment from the Christmas Expressions stamp set by CHF was then stamped on the center of the star in a solvent ink.
To finish off the design, I tied a big bow from Light Blue Silk Ribbon and then hung the star with a length of twine. A Maya Road Trinket Pin finishes off the embellishment.
Thank you for stopping by the CLASSroom! From all of us at Ellen Hutson LLC, we'd like to wish you and yours a very happy Christmas and a wonderful year to come.
