Hello -- we are thrilled you are here again today with us for Hero Arts' 2010 catalog preview party! Most of us naturally think of cards when we think of stamps, but I'd like reiterate today how well stamps can work with your scrapbooking, too! I used Hero Arts Clings-Heart Flourishes background stamp and a ClearDesign-Truly Appreciated sentiment to create this 6-inch scrapbook page.
This sentiment originally read "Sending you lots of hugs" but I just inked the "lots of hugs" part and used that. This way, the sentiment feels a little less like it should be on a card and a little more appropriate for a scrap page.
I like to use some of my 6-inch pages as a magnet for my refrigerator, so I backed my page with Ellen's Craft-A-Board and Inchie Magnets, so I can put these sweet faces on my fridge to look at every day! Here's how the rest of this project came together:
I have a nice selection of Memory Box notecards and wanted to share how I utilize these for larger projects. I opened up the lighter pink Begonia notecard and stamped it with the Heart Flourishes background, using Adirondack Mountain Rose ink (which matches the darker pink Begonia notecard!). Then I trimmed it to 4.75" square.
I also opened up the Begonia notecard and punched it along the 8.50" edges with Martha Stewart's Simple Scallop. This allowed me to trim the scalloped pieces to 1-inch wide and 6-inches long. Then I placed the scalloped strips on the edges of the 6-inch piece of Craft-A-Board and mitered the corners where the scalloped pieces meet.
Next, I used Copic marker R20 to color in the hearts on the background stamp. I printed my photo in sepia tones and trimmed it to 3.50" x 4". I rounded the corners with Zutter's 1/2" corner rounder and layered the photo onto more of the Begonia notecard. The edges were inked with Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink.
The sentiment was stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa ink onto more Begonia notecard and die cut with Spellbinders Ribbon Tags Trio Two die. Then beautiful light pink May Arts 1-1/4" silk ribbon was run through the ribbon slots. Some Hero Arts pearls were added to the corners, to finish it all off.
I think I might know what Grandma will be getting for Christmas <wink>!! We hope you've enjoyed all the new Hero Arts previews here on the CLASSroom! ~Sharon
