Welcome to day three of the Hero Arts 2010 Catalog Party here in the CLASSroom! The make and take kit that I started with was the Watercolor Silhouette Grass kit. I ended up with three versions--one close to the instruction sheet, one turned horizontally and simplified a bit, and one using some vintage patterned paper for a different look.
I ended up using everything in the kit except for the distress inks. I love distress inks! But since I wanted to stamp the sentiment over the grasses, I needed to use a lighter green. Also, I wanted the wheat on the blue notecards to be pale, so I chose a lighter blue for those too (Adirondack Lettuce for the grass, cloudy blue for the silhouette image in the background, and Denim for the sentiment).
This was the card that was closest to the suggested pattern. I handled the sentiment a bit differently simply because I really liked the grasses and didn't want to cover them up! I used a Ranger Mini Mister filled with water and a few drops of blue ink to spray a hint of sky after stamping the grasses.
For my second version I changed the orientation of the card and left off the pearls. I was hoping for a distinctly masculine variation. here.
Of course I couldn't stop with clean versions; I had to make one that was slightly shabby and feminine! I used the same blue notecard base, but added a bit of Antique Linen Distress ink on the edges. Paper is some Graphic 45 Domestic Goddess paper, Yours Truly, while ribbon is Ivory silk. I stamped the sentiment in Adirondack Raisin ink.
Are you enjoying the Hero Arts Preview Party? I know that I am! Thank you for visiting the CLASSroom today.
