Happy World Card Making Day! I'd like to invite you to join in my fashion/home decor challenge. Although both topics are uniquely different, they are surprisingly the same. Both have a style that changes with each season. Trends, textures and time of year all have an impact of what we see in magazines and on television.
I love the rich colors in this ad. Bursts of vibrant color, subtle patterns. Hints of glam and silver. All of which makes me want to learn more about the 40's.
These beautiful rooms seems so inviting. The cozygreen and blue tones that just make me want to melt into a couch. The openness of rooms with large windows and touches of nature leaves me refreshed. And the golden tones of an elegant room just melts me heart.
I took inspiration from so many aspects of these ads. I chose stripes that are elegant and inviting. I adore the white pleated top, so I added a touch of folded white paper to the bottom of my border. The tiny weaved slacks are so classy...so I chose to add a subtle patterned strip to my card. I just had to add a pop of yellow and a button and bling was perfect! I am not sure if the stamps that I chose are characteristic of the 40's but it reminds me of "olden days". I chose the main panel paper for it's colors, flowers and leaves...this ties in the nature that is seen in all three rooms. I couldn't call it complete until I added just a splash of silver.
