Is there anyone else out there in blog land who seems to need "just a few more" cards around December 20 every year? I can think I have enough, but it seems that I'm always running out and then having to mass product a dozen or so cards toward the end!
First, I chose the papers from the Jolly by Golly Mini Deck that I thought I might want to use, along with some coordinating Copic markers, R30, R32, G40, G12, and C0. I colored the trees, coat, and cat's bow with this first batch of markers. (Shall we pretend that Nicholas is Nikki today? I really wanted some pink in here, and a pink cat just didn't seem right! ;-D)
Next, I chose Copic BG000 for the sky, BG72 for mittens, hat, and scarf, and some cool gray (C1) for defining shadows on the snowman and on the snow. The toughest decision for me was how to color the cat. I chose Copic E21 and added a dab of E25 in shadow areas, using my lighter marker as a paintbrush to dab at and apply the darker marker. It's a good way to avoid having to try to blend extreme values, and it's not a problem with Copic markers since they cannot be cross-contaminated.Finally, here is a close-up of the colored "Nicholas and Kitty" image--I love this one! Thank you for visiting the CLASSroom on World Card Making Day!
