Baby, wedding, birthday...you name it..all occasions that may include party favors are fair game for this project. This is something that can be displayed on a table top, can be taken home as a gift and also provides a sweet treat for you and your guests
Supplies:
Adirondack Dye Ink Pad, Espresso
Martha Stewart Baker's Twine, Solids,
Martha Stewart Test Tube Favors
Basic Grey 12"x12" Collection Pack, Nook and Pantry
other:
circle punch and hole punch
rock chocolate
Start with a 12 x 12 piece of Basic Grey paper and cut it 3 inches wide.
Score at 1inch, 3 inch and 1 inch again.
Cut a base to 2 1/2 x 3
Punch a circle in the center
Apply adhesive of choice to the ends of each flap and attach to the base.
machine sew along the inside fold for a firm hold to the base
Punch a hole through both sides of the middle
...and tie a bow with brown twine
and voila, here is your base to hold the test tube. It works well. I wish I knew the engineering behind it, but it seems to do the trick! :)
die cut 4 flowers from the same Basic Grey paper and fold each one down the middle in the same exact way as each other.
Use red tape on the inside to secure the wire. Use a liquid adhesive on the edges of each flower petal.
...and it will look like this.
stamp the gingham pattern onto Memory Box card stock and punch out 4 flower centers
fold each circle and add to the flower centers on all 4 sides.
Here's a closer look at the test tube base.
Change the paper colors to accommodate a different season. This project reminds me of fall, but you can add a Christmas tree to the top for a holiday party and fill the test tube with peppermints maybe? Put jelly beans in the tube for a baby shower...add a ducky to the top possibly? Just have fun.
Thank you for joining me today. :)
