Crazy maybe, but I am really looking forward to Christmas this year...the music, the shopping and of course...creating Christmas cards. I just love it all!! This new image by Karen Lockhart is just the sweetest.
Supplies:
*New* Karen Lockhart Limited Edition 2009 "Nicholas & Kitty"
Copic ( Y000, YR24, YR21, B21, B00, YG63, E00, R21, R27)
Flower Soft, Soft Ivory, Flower Soft Glue
Adirondack Dye Ink Pad, Pitch Black
Cardstock, Neenah Classic Solar White
I stamped on white card stock and cut out the snow globe.
I started with coloring the trees. First with the lightest shade and then a darker green. I colored darker in come areas with the same darker green marker.
and I blended a little with the Y000
I colored the kitty first with YR21 and came in with the darker orange to add dimension.
I then colored the bows red and the gift/tag pink.
I colored the snowman's coat, hat and mitten with B00 and came back with B21 to add dimension. I blended with B00
I colored the nose with YR21 and added it to the trees, kitty and gift. It tends to tie in all of the colors together.
I decided that my snow globe needed some "snow"
Add flower soft glue to the bottom and press Flower Soft onto it. Allow to dry and remove excess.
I created a simple mask or stencil with a punched square. I chose 4 strong colors from my stamped image.
I placed my square stencil over another piece of white card stock and colored with a Copic marker.
I repeated with 3 more colors. I cleaned up the edges with the pen tip.
I inked up the Vintage Text Scrapblock and stamped over the 4 base squares.
Lastly, I cut around the 4 squares to use as my card base. I propped the snow globe up onto dimensional dots and let the sweet scene speak for itself. That darling scene was a treat to work with. I am so glad that you stopped by. :)
