Today's the next release of stamps from Lockhart Stamp Company -- so fresh & springy, you'll think Spring has already sprung! I colored this beautiful pitcher full of lilacs to match a purple/mauve/brown patterned paper from Basic Grey's Eva collection, using these Copic markers:
These lilacs are are quick and easy to color. Start with Copc V01-Heath and color each of the flower heads:
Then add V15-Mallow to the left side of each flower, where the shading is already drawn in for you. Extend the color out towards the middle of each flower:
Then add the deepest violet color, V17-Amethyst, to the very left edges and bottoms of the flowers:
Now come back and blend everything with the first marker, V01:
This will smooth and blend all the edges together, so you'll have seemless blending.
To add some mauve color to match the patterned paper, I used Copic R20-Blush on the bottom of the pitcher, by using a very light Egg Shell (E50) to take color from the R20 marker and apply it to the crevices of the pitcher. This will give you a little bit lighter pink color and will naturally help blend the colors together easier. Then E50 was used to blend it into the rest of the pitcher:
The card base is Memory Box Concord Grape Notecard and the lower mauve strip is more of the Eva patterned paper, cut and embossed with Spellbinders Deckle & Scallop Borderabilities -- doesn't this die make a beautiful dotted & scalloped edge?
The sentiment is from Mona Lisa Moments' Birthday Centers -- it is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black. You can see the entire new collection of Lockhart stamps by clicking on the NEW category from the front page of the store. Here's hoping Spring has an early arrival this year!
