To me, bare trees symbolize a multitude of deep sentiments - this makes them incredibly versatile - whether loaded with Dew Drops or bling for happy times to come (the birth of spring), or for today's project: the symbolism of the loss of leaves (the passage of winter) translating to the loss of a loved one.
The sympathy sentiment is from Kim Hughes Silhouette Blooms I, and the new Bare Oak Tree image is from Memory Box.
The card base is Memory Box Licorice (4-1/4" x 5-1/2") with a layer of Basic Grey Sugared patterned paper. Bare Oak image was stamped on the patterned paper and again onto a snippet of a vintage dictionary page with black Archival ink to allow the full extent of the branches to be viewed. Small strokes of a few brown Copic markers created a grounding line at the tree base.
The vellum sentiment is held in place using a basic photo corner and brads.
Paper snippets and a third generation (or third repetition) image from black ink created a simple collage for the card interior.
