Today's post features the lovely Lockhart Ornament Angel and a fun technique: sanding cardstock! Let's get started:
This is an Anna Wight layout. To begin, create a card base from Vanilla Bean and add a layer of Winterberry patterned paper. Next, insert a 4" x 5-3/8" piece of Water cardstock into a Cuttlebug embossing folder and emboss with a die cut/embossing machine.
Sand embossed cardstock with a sanding block - this will reveal the white core. Memory Box cardstocks have a white core, allowing this effect.
Trim embossed/sanded cardstock to 2" then trim with a scallop punch. Attach two brads near the right then adhere to card front.
Wrap velvet ribbon (May Arts) around the card front, adhering ends on front. The ribbon ends will be hidden.
Stamp Lockhart Ornament Angel onto white cardstock using a Palette Noir pad. Layer onto Water cardstock then Vanilla Bean. Edge Vanilla Bean layer with a silver Krylon pen.
I'll go step-by-step for coloring with Copic markers:
Step one: Color select parts of image using B41 and BG72.
Step two: Continue coloring, shading, using slightly darker tones - BG75 and B95.
Step three: Blend the darker tones using lighter toned markers from step one.
Step four: Add skin color using R11, light blonde tones to hair with YR31, and shade left side of image using C1.
Step five: Add darker blonde tones to hair using YR24 and small details to dress and bow using R89.
Step six: Add Turquoise and Baby Blue Stickles to the ornaments and Diamond Stickles to the angel's wings.
Aren't the turquoise and light blue, combined with the chocolate tones yummy? (sentiment - A Muse).
