In today's post we are playing with masks! Ellen carries a full line of masks, and I've used Tim Holtz's Flourish for today's project.
To begin, I selected a piece of Winterberry patterned cardstock from the 6x6 pack, and placed the mask over the patterned cardstock. Use whatever ink you feel coordinates with the patterned paper, and blend the ink over the mask using a blending tool.
With Tim Holtz's masks, they are clear, allowing you to see exactly what you will get when applying ink.
Leaving mask in place, stamp Aged Sheet Music using brown (dye or hybrid suggested) ink. Wipe mask clean with a soft cloth and remove.
Stamp Family Tree using same brown ink, and add a gray 'grounding line' to the image using a gray marker.
Insert the front of a Vanilla Bean card base into a Cuttlebug embossing folder and emboss using a die-cut or embossing machine. Then, sand the embossed card front using a sanding block. Memory Box cardstocks have a white core, allowing the surface color to be abraided away for a fun effect.
Add ribbon (May Arts), stamped tag (Hero Arts sentiment, tag from Staples) and a felt snowflake. Beautiful blue bling completes the tree and tag.
I love how the flourish mask gives the feeling of the flurry of snow!
