Good morning, and welcome to the CLASSroom! Today I have a simple but elegant card to share with you. I received a Fiery Floral Scrapblock this week and wanted to use it; when I looked for a focal image to fit it, one of the Mona Lisa Motivational Centers seemed like a perfect match.
I stamped the Fiery Floral image onto a piece of red cardstock using Versamark ink, then heat embossed with a clear embossing powder. I added a bit of Vintage Photo Distress ink to the edges of the red panel to help draw the viewer's eye toward the center of the cardstock, and then edged the cardstock with a gold paint pen.
For the focal image, I stamped the quotation in red ink, and then die-cut with a Curved Rectangle, again distressing the edge (Antique Linen Distress ink) and adding gold paint. It seemed to need a mat or frame, so I created a frame layer by nesting two of the curved rectangle dies on the magnetic mat to keep them from slipping. I placed my cardstock on top of this, then my cutting pad upside down on top of the cardstock. Please note that it is important that the dies not overlap if you are using two of them at once. I edged the frame with the gold paint pen.
Next I tied an ivory silk ribbon around the card front and then added my focal image and frame, raising them on foam tape. I finished it with two small ivory pearls and mounted the card front on an ivory (natural white) base.
Thanks for visiting today!
