The experimental process of working with a new product is so very exciting and intriguing. What will the new product allow us to do that is different than the old version.
This card shows another test I did using the Champagne Dazzle pad. Unfortunately we sold out of our partial order of ink pads almost instantaneously. If you would like to be placed on a list to receive an email from us when our next shipment arrives please contact us at [email protected] and put VersaMark Dazzle in the title of your email along with your request to be notified. We hope that Tsukineko will come through for us in about two more weeks, but as you well know these things are VERY unpredictable. I do want to continue posting projects and ideas using this product for all those who did purchase your pads immediately and so I apologize for torturing those who would love to purchase one.
I wanted to see how the new Dazzle would work on glossy cardstock. I used Kim Hughes Natures Silhouettes set and quickly tried one of my old favorites. Simply ink your stamp with dye ink, in this case I used Adirondack Lettuce, and stamp your image three times without reinking. As you stamp each image the color gets progressively lighter leaving you with a wonderful monochromatic color scheme.
One tip I would like to share as you use this technique is to be certain not to stamp a second or third generation image using the portion of the solid image that has met with the edge of your cardstock. I learned the hard way a long time ago that if your sold image falls off the edge of your cardstock and then you repeat stamp that image on your glossy cardstock you will end up with a very strong line in your image right where the stamp met the edge of your paper. As you will notice in the photo above I started with the darkest image on the left side, then moved the stamp slightly to the right and down to repeat, and finally over to the left side and further down yet to repeat. This kept that "line" moving off the paper in a consistent manner.
If I needed a lighter generation of stamping and had this line now on my stamp image I would ink my stamp and then stamp it off on a sheet of scrap paper to avoid the "line" that comes with the stamp falling off the edges.
This is a shot of the Versamark Dazzle Champagne ink on the white cardstock. I absolutely love the look of this color together with greens, browns and soft blues. Quite possibly I love this color with any color - LOL!
One last effect I wanted to try was adding Clear Embossing Powder over the still damp VersaMark Dazzle. WOWIE! That's all I can say - LOL!
If you are in need of a quick and elegant card I HIGHLY recommend using this technique - it is a sure fire, can't miss, look that has always been well received.
