It's getting colder here in NJ, and I fondly remember from my childhood having a soft, classic, tweed wool coat. Seeing the Twiggy 6x6 paper line from Memory Box brought back that comfy memory, and I decided to create a card with that homespun feeling using Lesley Langdon's set Primitive Beginnings.
To begin, I stamped the sheep image once on ivory cardstock and once onto a sheet of Twiggy patterned paper, then cut out the patterned paper sheep's coat. Stamped 'believe' from this set, distressed the ivory cardstock edges and gently sponged the edges with Distress Antique Linen.
Using pinking shears on more Twiggy paper I created borders and machine stitched into place. Added an ivory 1-1/4" circle punch distressed the same way over a 1-3/8" circle of kraft cardstock.
For the leaf embellishment, I used this Cuttlebug die with dark green wool felt, and cut the unit in half. Added a button from my stash to make a fun felt embellishment! I love making quality handmade 3D embellishments like this one, especially when they are easy!
Sheep shadows at her feet are made with a light grey Copic marker. You'll find a number of versatile images in the Primitive set from Lesley that will get you into a homespun mood!
finished card size: a petite but postal approved 3-1/2" x 5". ;) Card base is Memory Box Dill. This is a Beate Johns WSC62 layout.
