Supplies: Lockhart IB Ice Cream Cone, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Memory Box Begonia, White Inchie Square, 1" Punch, 7/8" Punch, Rose Pearl, Ultra Fine Crystal Snow Glitter, Tea Dye Distress Ink, Colorbox Chiffon Pink Ink, Memento Angel Pink Ink
Join the Inchie INKlings in this month's challenge by creating an Inchie that has a "3-Dimensional" feature to it. What qualifies as 3-D? Anything that you layer on top of your inchie to make it pop up off the surface (see picture below.)
Use an Itty Bitty, crop a larger image, spotlight on a card, create an Inchie jewelry piece - just remember to make it 3-Dimensional.
Rules:
- Feature a Lockhart Stamp Company image - you can use any other stamps, words, papers or embellishments, but use your Lockhart stamp images as the focal point for these challenges.
- Picture must be emailed to us at [email protected] by October 15th, 2008. Please put "3-D Inchie Challenge" in the subject heading.
- Alternately send us your Inchie to add to our "Wall of Love" or include a self-addressed stamped envelope for it's safe return if you would like it back. Send to Ellen Hutson LLC, 1145-12th Ave NW, Suite C2, Issaquah, WA 98027.
- You may enter up to three times again for this month's challenge.
We will do a random drawing of all participants once we get all images uploaded to the Inchie Challenge photo album. The winner of this random drawing will receive:
- 1 Itty Bitty Lockhart stamp of your choice,
- 1 Box White Inchie Squares
- 1 Box Black Inchie Squares
- 1 Inchie Papers
We will be announcing the winner of the Framed Inchie Challenge as well as the Top Coats Inchie Challenge later this week. I apologize for the delay in posting last month's challenge participants and winner - going on vacation, starting yet another new blog (the CLASSroom) and returning the kids to school has certainly played havoc with my ability to get everything done. Thank you so much for your patience!
Now to share the elements in creating this month's Inchie Challenge Ü
To begin I used a scrap of paper that had previously been inked and was destined for the trash can. It was the perfect cone color Ü. I stamped the entire cone and cut it out.
Next I swirled two different pink inks on another scrap of paper.
After stamping the cone three additional times I added more color to the second cone and even more to the third. It is that darkest pink icecream that became my bottom layer. If you take a close look at the very first picture and then at the picture below you can see how I cut the ice cream into three different segments - the darkest/largest piece is the bottom layer, with the lightest/smallest piece as the top layer.
As you can see in this picture I added yet another layer of striped pink paper atop the pink paper that I adhered to the white Inchie Square. I have added two different sized punches to our Inchie punch collection - the 1" is the perfect base layer, with the 7/8" and 3/4" adding perfect layering abilities.
The final 3-D touch was the little Rose Pearl and then a little Ultra Fine Crystal Snow glitter to make the ice cream just a hint more appealing. Every time I edit the photographs for my Inchie projects I realize that I forget one key element - my initials. Typically I am scrambling just to get my post ready to go and so I never have the time to redo all the pictures - LOL! So please learn from my mistake and be certain to add your initials to your creative pieces Ü
Start creating now - we would LOVE to see your Inchie creations!
