Hi everyone! Thanks for stopping by today. We're only just a few days away from the holidays, and I thought I would take this opportunity to share just one last holiday themed post with you. And while we we're at it, I thought we could also take a closer look at the Tonic Nuvo Drops.
The Tonic Nuvo Drops are a fun way to add shine, sparkle and a bit of dimension to any project. Think of them as enamel dots in a bottle. Nuvo Drops allow you to create enamel dot like accents in the size and color of your choosing. And you can add them directly to a project, or you can pre-make some enamel embellishments and then glue them on to your project later.
The Nuvo Drops come in a few different finishes (if you will). They are available in the Crystal Drops, Jewel Drops and Glitter Drops. I'm going to give you a closer look at these in the video. But for a quick explanation, Crystal Drops are opaque. The Crystal Drops come in pearlized and shiny finishes. The Jewel Drops dry translucent. They almost remind me of a colored version of Glossy Accents. However, due to their consistency, they are much easier to make really thick and dimensional from the get go. Finally, Glitter Drops combine glitter with the enamel dot effect. They give you a sparkly finish with lots of dimension. Unlike Stickles, they dry with a dimensional effect.
These Nuvo Drops come in a huge range of colors...and I'll show you some of those in the video tutorial below.
But do you want to know my favorite part about the Nuvo Drops? The packaging. They have this beautiful lid that looks like a diamond. Since I love all things sparkly, shiny and blingy, these little gems are right up my alley!
I thought it would be fun to make a couple of card projects while playing with these (new to me) Nuvo Drops.
For the first project, I decided that the adorable wreath from Homespun Holiday needed a little (or a lot) of shine and dimension.
I stamped my wreath and then filled in all of the baubles with a variety of different Nuvo Drops. I mixed some of the pearlescent finishes with the glitter and shiny finishes. In the end, I'm left with a shiny, dimensional wreath.
I created an ink blended background for my wreath. Since this wreath was already super girly girl, I decided to continue that theme with a pink background. I used Tattered Rose and Spun Sugar to create my background. I stamped some boughs from the Christmas Sribbles stamp set on my background in a mint pigment ink.
I finished the card off with a layer of Glossy Accents over my bow and a few sequins (because you know this card needed more shine).
For the second card, I used the Fat Pants and Holly Jolly stamp sets to create a card with a retro vibe. This card has a very different feel than the first. And I love it!
I added the Nuvo Drops to the ornament to accentuate some of the details that are already a part of the stamp. I also added some Nuvo Drops to the background. I used a mixture of the Glitter Drops and the Crystal Drops. These drops took a mostly one layer card and added some fun, shiny, dimensional elements.
Because you can control the thickness of your dots, these are a great way to add a little somethin-somethin to a card that you are planning to mail. They don't add a lot of bulk...but they pack a punch in the shine department.
Be sure to check out the video tutorial below. I'll show you the Nuvo Drops in action...and give you some tips and tricks along the way.
I hope you'll check the Nuvo Drops out in the shop. I've only linked the ones I've shown here today, but they come in so many more colors.
Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you've enjoyed these projects. May you have a blessed holiday season. Until next time, I hope you have a fabulous day!
