CRAZY DAYS!

I just wanted to thank the many of you who have responded to the series I have started on the Elements and Principles of Design. I am very excited to be sharing this information with you and I hope that I can help those who have never heard this information before learn how these can hold the key to you stepping out to design in confidence. I apologize for the fact that this is going to take me a while. Just to let you know what I'm up against so that you don't think I've forgotten here are the deadlines I have going on right now:

• Publishing calls that need to be adapted and gotten in the mail.
• Class samples for all the stores I am teaching in this fall - completed and gotten in the mail.
• Orders sent out to customers
• Publishing calls that need to have projects designed.
• Website - that pesky little detail - LOL.
• Kid activites - I'm still a stay-at-home mom. Thank goodness my kids love to help Ü
• Orders that have arrived and need to be unpacked, put in place and then sent out.
• Articles - samples, articles - samples (so please know they will be coming and don't give up on me). I fully believe in the whole design process and I am SOOO excited to share it with you! So thank you again for your patience and support.

I even ordered some 1 1/2" and hope to post some samples to share with you soon - it's simply cool stuff!!!! There is nothing like unpacking a box of ribbon!!! I'll have to post some pictures of the silk ribbon that arrived as well - it is so incredibly soft and beautiful! Oh for more hours in the day! (and night - LOL).

My Mind's Eye

I adore the papers, transparencies, rub-ons... well I guess you could say I love this manufacturer! Being that I had a 30 minute time span between appointments yesterday I just HAD to stop at our local scrap store "Mad Scrapper". They were just unpacking the new goodies from CHA - I do believe that I died and went to heaven there for a few minutes. I'm working on two very special projects and these are the goodies I selected to add to what I already have at home!

Bohemia - it was almost impossible for me to pick from the amazing groups within this line!!! I'm going to have to research the artist behind this line because all I can say is WOW!!!! I love just to look at them - to make that first cut is going to be serious heart attack moment Ü

The second grouping is totally different from the first - I LOVE to stretch my mind and creativity. Wouldn't you know it though when I turned the paper over who do you think manufactures it? Yep - My Mind's Eye - designer Traci SIms. When I saw these papers and colors I just couldn't step away from these! They glommed on to my brain and therefore my hands just had to pick them up - LOL. Then I found these awesome Queen & Co. goodies to coordinate - LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this grouping too!

Now I just need to get BUSY!!! It would be so delightful if I could just clone myself and go without sleep too! Oh well - that's not going to happen and so patience must insue! Hopefully I'll create something spectacular with these - but how could you not with goodies this sweet!!!

Twill Tape Colors

I LOVE the colors of this twill tape!!!

Have fun playing with this technique! AND for those who are wondering about my printer here is how mine works. I print the words on my paper and then I lay the paper back face down in the paper tray (each printer varies so you need to figure out how yours works first). My printer brings it up and around the cartridge - so it does NOT go straight through. This is why I believe it is important to have the adhesive right on the leading edge so that the twill is affixed solidly to your paper. I am using my ATG adhesive which REALLY holds, the good news is that when the printing process is complete I have been able to immediately pull it off without any problems. HTH's.

CHA Summer 2006 Celebration!

Oh the excitement of seeing all the new product! I would give my eye teeth to have actually been there. I asked Julie to carry me in her handbag, but unfortunately we all know that Julie is a petite little thing - can you imagine the size the handbag she would need to carry in order to fit me in - LOL! That girl has spunk and energy, but...

So instead I have been cruising the internet looking for delicious details! Being that this world is all so new to me and with starting my new endeavour I thought we could have our own little celebration. If you are like me and are just salivating whilst waiting for these new products to actually hit the stores keep reading.  Lifetime Moments has done an amazing job sharing the juicy details with us out here in the "real" world. Don't blame me if you get sucked in!!! Consider yourself warned - "The above link may be dangerous on your pocket book and your free time (don't tell me if you are actually looking at these links when you are supposed to be working - because then you might really be in trouble - LOL).

Have fun and I'll be back to share some of my favorites with you after I've had plenty of time to digest them all. I CAN already tell you that the Crate Paper and Fontwerks products have me asking for emergency aid. One of my very funny friends has this wonderful way of making me laugh so hard! When she sees something that she finds really beautiful she shouts - "quick, get the paddles"!!! LZ where are you when I need ya girlfriend because I do believe that we all might be needing those paddles after viewing all this gorgeous new stuff (or at the very least a financial advisor Ü).
