I'm actually posting and it's NO JOKE! Happy April everyone - I finally have a creation for you and even better some news to share!!! I have a very special announcement and it involves a little guessing game for some blog candy, so be certain to pop on over to the CLASSroom and leave a comment with your guess to our annoucement pronto! The deadline is April 2nd at midnight PST so don't delay - and no this is not an April Fool's joke (insert grin).
This creation is SO me! I love how elegant and simple it is!
As with many things in my life, timing is not on my side with this post. I decided to go ahead and share it even though many of the resources are gone, or almost gone. Because it has taken me so long to get it all together I just have to share it - LOL! Don't delay if you want some of these eggs for your own we don't have many left and once this link disappears they are gone for the season.
This sweet little egg can house some awesome treasures, or simply have it sit on a shelf or table to add a festive touch to your spring decor. Unfortunately I began this creation a couple of weeks ago when we had plenty of supplies. I am so sorry that I didn't get it completed in a timely manner, being we are currently out of the Graphic 45 papers, as well as the die I used to cut the little stand. We have more on order, but unfortunately we still have no word on when all these supplies will arrive.
To begin I simply mixed some perfect pearls with hairspray in a mini mister and spritzed the egg. I love the sparkley sheen and splotchy look that lends an elegant and speckled look to the eggs surface. Allow the egg to sit until the surface has dried.
Now this is the part that is so simple and adds such an exquisite touch. I used the new Classic Lace Border die (sorry but we are currently sold out of these - I apologize for using something that you can't get right now, but hopefully they will be back in stock soon. Perhaps you might want to consider one of the other border dies if you would like to replicate this look.) Simply apply Perfect Paper Adhesive to the end and overlap it to adhere.
Allow it to sit to dry before proceeding.
Then add little gemstones (Tip - cut these apart and place them on your surface using an Xacto Knife blade)and adhere silk ribbon to the base.
Next I cut out the butterfly from one of the Graphic 45 papers and added some Copper Stickles to it's wing tips (we do have these, but I haven't had a chance to get them up in the store yet - oh vey!)
Using Rich Cocoa ink to stamp the words "happy easter" on the premade Botanicabella tag, adding a Marrakech button and some sheer ribbon around the egg completed this elegant egg.
Thanks so much for stopping by and don't forget to head over to the CLASSroom to share in our excitement!
Hugs,
Ellen
