This time life crazies are all GOOD things :D I apologize for not being here and sharing new ideas and getting tutorials put together, but the crazies of life hit BIG TIME this week.
First off I would like to thank you SO MUCH for sharing your thoughts with Maddi! When I shared your responses with her she got up and walked over and gave me the biggest hug and a quiet little "thank you Mom!" I truly believe that it is so important for our children to realize the gifts that they have been given, because I do know that it took me a VERY LONG time to realize what my special talents are. I also firmly believe that it is then up to them to figure out what to do with them and if they want to pursue those talents, but it is my job as a parent to help my children to realize their dreams. So I thank each and every one of you for your support!!!
Where in the world have I been? LOL! First it was the big week for the musical production that Maddi was in. Let me tell you how impressed and amazed I am with the middle school kids who performed in this musical - TALENT EXPLOSION extraordinaire!!! I kid you not when I share that the two kids (yes, kids - probably age 13 or 14) that were the leads in the musical had talent that went through the roof. I would not doubt that we see them on Broadway some day! Talent I tell you!!! I'm also thrilled with Maddi's growth and performance - the kid can sing and act. Her role was just a small supporting one, but she did great and was fun to watch. It is truly crash time at our house though - long, long days and VERY little sleep - LOL!
So the next event was the SCS OR/WA get together. Talk about hard to keep a secret!!! What an honor to be considered worthy to be a surprise guest! Karen Lockhart and myself, along with Julie (HRR, the queen royalty of stamping herself) and Linda Carnell had an AWESOME day together with 40 wonderful ladies from around the west coast region.
What a kick in the pants to giggle with the girls!!! Karen and I had so much fun and many more giggles after the "show" about our "performance". We felt like we were at the fair - choppin', slicin', and dicin'! Come one, come all - we'll share our little tricks when coloring and the gadgets we adore with you all :D I will totally admit to being a goofball, ESPECIALLY when I'm tired and as pictures will truly attest to - I was tired - LOL! (Let's just say that pictures of me that were taken at this event aren't the most flattering I've seen. Because I was tired I seem to be in a stupor at times - ha, ha!) At one point during our demonstration Karen talked about the little pieces of art that we create when coloring our little creations. Well in true "Ellen is just out there in lalaland" fashion I respond with, "I'll talk to you more about that later" - spew! I was so tired that I just didn't get that it was now my turn to talk. Yep, clueless and blonde - that's me when I'm tired - LOL! We had shared this information at three previous sessions and being the true goofball that I am - when she hands it off to me to take it one step further I just give it right back to her so that she can do all the talking - ha! ha!
I could not believe all the wonderful ladies I met!!! Dawn (Reindeer Trout/RT - what's the story behind your SCS identity sweetie?), Novell (who like me is so original in her name selection on SCS - LOL - love you sweetie!), and Joyce (JWheeler - who we also had a giggle about our innovative names - :D) put on THE MOST AMAZING event! They had prepared the most incredible food, had an AMAZING selection of door prizes and raffle items - all I can do is give you a standing ovation for putting on such a well organized and incredibly fun event!
So I'm off - LOTS of work to catch up on. Can you tell - life is a little insane at the Hutson house sometimes? AND I hope to share more in the coming week.
Don't forget to head over to PaperTreyink for your new stamp set - GREEN THUMB - this set is SO stinkin' cute!!! I'll be posting a little info in the upcoming week or two regarding the designs I created and trying to take better photos. The colors just look so washed out to me now that I see them on the "big screen".
Hugs to you all and thanks for stopping by!
WOW, Ellen, your coloring is absolutely DEE-LISH (like a juicy PEAR!) I always get SO MUCH from your tutorials, AND a lot of "I want THAT!" I want you to know how much we all appreciate you, your talents, and that you SHARE your talents with all of us.

Wow, Ellen...now I'm tired! It sounds like you had some great times even if it was wild and crazy, LOL.
I hope that Maddi will share some more art with us in the near future (maybe she will even start her own blog). I imagine her voice to be angelic, am I right?
You are a wonderful artisit and mom. I saw your Green Thumb cards and was amazed as usual, TFS.
