and I have nothing to share - LOL! Well I should say I have nothing stamping related to share, but I do have some very interesting pictures for your viewing pleasure :D
Today I had the good fortune of meeting Marianne (who has amazing talents when it comes to working with the Copic Markers) at none other then an Anime convention here in Seattle. For those who know little about this genre let me tell you that these kids (well most were kids - I was one of the old ladies there) save up for this trip for a LONG time, coming from all over the Pacific Northwest and other regions to mingle together at these conventions. The costuming was unbelievable and VERY creative - below are just a few snippets of some of the characters I captured on film.
I saw many colorful people
some with wings,
some characters I recognized, but most I had no clue - LOL.
I truly enjoyed seeing the amazing creativity that this group of individuals had on display. I thank you Marianne, so much for the time you spent with me this afternoon and evening! I bet you want to see what Marianne looked like - don't you :D
Hey - she made me feel much more normal. Funny how you can feel so out of place when you are dressed "normally" - LOL! I have learned a ton about Copic and I look forward to sharing this information with you all! I kid you not when I tell you that my mind is spinning with the possibilities that these markers provide. These are a top-notch fine art product. The textures, color combinations and effects that can be created on so many different surfaces just has my brain going WOW, WOW, WOW! Expect to hear more in the future as I continue to work at perfecting my skills. I will be putting together some awesome reference materials for you - comparisons to colors that you already know well, inks that work with the markers, surfaces these work on and effects you can create. Can you please clone me and give me a little more time in my days?!?
Now on to that itty bitty surprise! I can't believe that not one mention or guess has been made. So I'm not saying anything else until sometime tomorrow. OK girls - don't disappointment me - what do you think the itty bitty surprise is? See you tomorrow when I'm not so tired :D
My daughter loves animea, me I can't even spell it, She would love to see the colorful people I can twait for you to fill me in more on the markers, you always do so well at that.

Oh, can't wait to see what you show us with the markers - and I'm guessing the bowl of pears is the suprise?

I too hope that those fantastic markers will be at your store! Of course I'm so behind the times that I've just gotten used to the PRisma colored pencils...LOL

Ooh is it the cool ink that you used on the pears? That would be awesome!

It's a pair of pears...buy one get one half off with purchase. Or, it's a pear w/purchase & free shipping w/orders of $25.00. It's 15% off all pears or pairs w/purchase. I bet you want me to stop guessing by now....... Wait, it's half price shipping w/purchase.

Ellen, another great tutorial -- I will have to get those Copic Markers! My guess would be that the stamps are going to be "paired" together. Maybe some sort of 2 step stamping process like SU. I'm not very good at guessing.

Is the surprise the single pear stamp used on the envelope?
I'm looking forward to learning great things about the Copic markers!

PS: I forgot to tell you that I think the photos are fabulous, especially since I had no idea what kind of convention you were talking about.
I sure would like to swipe those Copic markers from Marianne, but,
I can just see everyone putting their hands out and telling me "Swiper, NO swiping!".

Hmm..I was thinking it was the little pear in the tutorial, or that you are adding the copic markers, but now I am wondering!

In yesterday's comments I entered a guess...the pear stamp you used in the tutorial. Today, since I think my guess was wrong, is it that your EXPECTING??? LOL, I had to make a joke since I really suck at guessing games unless it's Pictionary. TFS and I hope I gave you a laugh.

I'm hoping it is that you will be adding Copic markers to your store. I have a few and a few Prismacolor and the Copic are so much better! I would love to see any tutorials you have on using them though. I *need* more markers to add to my ever growing selection.

Can't wait to see what you show us......then I am sure I'll NEED these markers-but I am sure that if they are this incredible, they will be a important element in my coloring of images! Thank you so much for gathering all this info and sharing it with us all...you are indeed a super gal :)

It funny - I've been eyeing those markers and did searches for tutorials. They are all on Anime illustration! Some amazing effects though. I'm a little worried about fumes - are they bad I wonder??
