There are moments in life that just need to be captured on film - this is one of them. I'm so proud of my children - first and foremost because they are kind, respectful (most of the time at least - LOL!) and loving. Maddi is beginning to help me more with "our business" by doing some watercoloring for me. So those thank you notes that arrive with orders you place at my store just might be ones completed by her. This weekend she helped me get a little head start on this week's thank you notes. I teach her how to watercolor the images and then she just takes over.
So the astonished and thrilled mom moment came a couple of weeks ago. Maddi has such amazing artistic talents - I always knew it, but this was a moment that just really took my breath away. From a very young age my children have sat next to me at the table and created. She began drawing when she was VERY little - I can't remember the exact age, but... I walked in to her room with some laundry the other day and stopped dead in my tracks. There on her desktop sat a drawing that blew me away. This is a project that she was working on for her art class at school. They took a picture of a face from a magazine and cut it down the center. Their task was to draw the right side and match it up with the left. All I can say is WOW - her talents FAR exceed mine! Very proud mommy moment indeed. So here is the drawing assignment not yet completed; but I just had to take a picture in case I never had the chance to see it again.
So I wonder - I wonder what her future holds, what she will do with her talents. She has many and it thrilled me to the depths of my soul to see her stunning creation. I would be tickled if you would leave your comments for her. I haven't told her I am doing this, but sometimes it is good for a child to hear words of encouragement from others who are not "just" Mom and Dad. Have a wonderful week!
