Creating with the focus on embellishments is one of my very favorite ways to papercraft. I love the texture and arranging them on the project and especially, finding creative ways to use them.
Today's project uses the beautiful Basic Grey Out of Print Lace Stickers which are stunning on their own. I decided to have a little fun playing with them and adding color to one of the stickers for a very unique look.
To start off with, I simply cut the sticker with the backing away from the rest of the package. The backing makes a great work surface and allows me to play around with the design arrangement before commiting to my final design.
To add in color, I turned to some of my favorite Copic Marker hues. Coloring lace is so easy. While leaving it on the backing, simply dab on color in the areas you wish to highlight. Using the brush end slowly build up the color by allowing the ink to soak into the lace until you get a look you are happy with.
Here's a detailed look at the lace and the card.
I love using tickets to anchor a design and this fun ticket is cut from a 12x12 patterned paper from Memory Box.
