GO BOLD WITH FABER-CASTELL DESIGN MEMORY CRAFT COLOR, by Jill Foster
Hi! Jill Foster here to share a pair of cards featuring products from the Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft line and a couple of my favorite Hero Arts stamps.
All of the Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft products are designed to work together, making it easy to mix and match between colors and products. Here we will be combining the Color Gelatos with the PITT Artist Pens.
This first technique uses Color Gelatos and is what I call the “Spritz-Color-Spritz” technique. First begin by spritzing your stamp with water.
Next, color your gelatos directly on the stamp. Because the stamp is already wet, the color will just melt onto your stamp- so FUN!
Color the stems with a green Stamper’s Big Brush Marker.
Spritz the stamp again and stamp on white cardstock.
Allow image to dry. I used a heat gun to speed this process. Next go back and add shading to your Gelato stamped flower bouquet using PITT Artist Pens.
On this second card, we will be using Stamper’s Big Brush Markers and PITT Artist Pens to color in a stamped image. Remember when investing in your Big Brush Markers and PITT Artist Pens that not only are these pens useful for coloring directly on your stamps but they also work fabulous to color in your stamped images. I will be working with 2-3 colors in the same color family to aid with blending and shading.
Begin by stamping your image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Don’t stress if the stamping isn’t perfect--we’ll touch that up later! To color the red flowers I used Stamper’s Big Brush Markers in Scarlet Red 118, Deep Scarlett Red 219, and a PITT Artist PEN in Magenta 133. Begin by coloring the entire image with your lightest shade (Scarlett Red 118).
Add your darkest color (Magenta 133).
Finally, blend the two colors together using your medium shade (Deep Scarlett Red 219).
Continue to color all flowers and stems in this fashion.
To finish the look and really make your colors “pop,” color over black areas using a black Stamper’s Big Brush Marker.
Hope you have a great day and that I have inspired you to go bold with Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft color!
