Today I want to shoe you something really fun, making your own embossing template. It’s easy peasy and can add an interesting detail to your creations.
I chose the “Party Shoe” stamp by Karen Lockhart for the template.
The image was stamped on Ellen’s “Essentials by Ellen: Craft-a-Board” and then cut out. This Craft-a-Board is sturdy but very manageable to cut fairly small details. A small border should be left around the image when cutting.
I passed the card stock through my embosser with the shoe template. One layer of Craft-a-Board was enough to leave a perfect embossed image.
To center the image for stamping, I used a “Stamp-a-ma-Jig” over the embossed area.
I LOVE the resulting look!
Shoes were colored with Copics. Basic Grey designer paper was used to cut several coordinating pieces to paper piece onto the shoe. These pieces were quick and easy cutting. Consequently, I cut out so many of these! I will store them with my stamp, along with the template, for future creations.
Before adhering the paper pieces to the card stock, I embossed some of them.
This was a blast! As I was going through the different designer papers trying to decide which papers to use and once several were cut out, it felt like I was trying on different shoes as I placed the little cutouts on the different colored shoe images. But, I finally made my decisions. Below are larger pictures of each of the four cards in the set.
The sentiments are all part of the Cornish Heritage Farms “The Shoe Boutique” set.
Each card has a corresponding sentiment stamped on the inside as well. These are shown directly below the card. Also listed are all supplies used on that particular card.
