Today I have a photo album cover to share with you. I made this to hold 6-inch scrapbook pages that I hope to fill with pages of my daughters to give to their grandmother for Mother's Day! I'm hoping if I get an early enough start on it, I might finish it in time! This beautiful Basic Grey Origins 6x6 paper was begging me to be used and I thought it would be perfect for this special keepsake album.
I started by cutting two pieces of 6-1/4" square Craft-A-Board to use as my album cover base. Then I adhered the paper to the front and rounded the corners with Zutter's special corner rounder tool that cuts through chipboard like butter! The edges of the album cover were inked with Antique Linen Distress ink.
Karen Lockhart's Tulips in the Window was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink onto Neenah Natural White cardstock and then cut out. The center pots of tulips were carefully trimmed away and this left a nice sized (1-1/4" x 1-3/4") opening to have a photo of my girls peeking through!
The window was softly colored with the Copic markers listed below. Copic Melon Spica glitter pen was used to color the tiny leaves and then Summer Flower Soft applied to make some flowers on the vines (you can click on the photo for a larger view). The window was popped up on thick foam tape over the photo that I printed at about 2" x 3" in sepia tones.
I used Becky's Trend Watch Tuesday-Text advice from this week and stamped CHF's Vintage Text Scrapblock with black ink onto Natural cardstock and then die cut it with Nested Dahlia dies. The flowers were wrinkled up, the edges inked with Antique Linen Distress ink, and then layered together with foam tape. A black tied button finishes the center of the flower.
I used my Bind-It-All and 1-inch black Owire to bind my covers and scrapbook page protectors together. Wide ivory silk ribbon finishes this album cover ... quick & easy! Now to fill it!
