Welcome to our fourth World Card Making Day challenge at the CLASSroom! I love cards with glitz on them and today, we're challenging you to put on the glitz to celebrate! I've created a glitzy holiday card sample but feel free to create for any occasion using glitter, bling, sparkles, whatever shimmers or shines.
I've been drooling over these gorgeous Graphic 45 Christmas Past papers and couldn't wait to put them to use. You'll see three different patterns in my project but because these papers are double-sided, I actually only had to use two. Don't you love the vintage look and the warm holiday feel?
Instead of designing my card around an image, I created simple Christmas trees from the patterned paper and then added some glitz to dress them up.To cut the trees so that they are nice and even, first cut out a rectangle the height and width you want the trees to be. Mark the mid-point on the top of the rectangle with a pencil and then trim down from the middle to the bottom sides.
It's my opinion that all holiday trees should be decked out for the season and that's where the glitz part of this design came into the project. The striped tree is covered with a double sided adhesive sheet and then sprinkled with glitter. So festive in person. My second tree, I decided to glitz it up by adding Copper Stickles to the snowflake pattern on the paper.
The darling little sentiment gets a holiday ornament feel by die cutting it out with Spellbinders circle and scalloped circle dies. Now the beautiful green lace trim was just a little too fresh for the look of this project so I lightly sponged it with the Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink
