Inspiration for today's cards are courtesy of the Pottery Barn catalog - if my brain needs a swift burst of creative energy I reach for inspiration in the form of current merchandise catalogs. Most are typically filled with current and coming trends, colors and color combinations.
The first card measures 9-1/4" x 4", to fit in a #10 business envelope - it is elongated in shape and a nice, elegant size. The bottom of the card front features a pierced line in 1/4" increments. I used Tim's ruler for speed and precision. A thick Ornare pad is a superior cushion - a professional product available at a very reasonable cost.
A Labels One Nestabilities die punched then embossed white cardstock, then stamped the bold fern image from Kim Hughes Nature Silhouettes set (Adirondack lettuce ink). A Krylon Silver Leafing pen edged along the embossed border creates an instant frame.
A 2-1/2" square was cut from Licorice cardstock, and a couple more from Basic Grey's Urban Prairie 6x6 sheets. 3M foam (general merchandise stores, office supply stores carry these) squares were added to create height.
This layout was inspired from a card in an old SU catalog. The black gives the envelope an injection of elegance. 'Just Because' sentiment is from the same set as the fern (Kim Hughes Natures Silhouettes).
Two more quick cards using the same basic materials. Card bases are 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" - Memory Box Lagoon cardstock. Urban Prairie paper strip is lined on one edge with yummy Cantaloupe cardstock. Interior verse (Verses Rubber Stamps) was underlined with a Copic BG11 marker. Verse on card front is from Mona Lisa Friend Centers.
