Inchie Posts

Good Morning everyone! I think it is going to be a beautiful day here in the Pacific Northwest. We are in desparate need of sunshine and Vitamin D Ü Here's to hoping that we get more than just a day or two of it!!!

I am happy to tell you that I think I have been able to transfer all of the Inchie posts that were of any substance to this blog. Yippie - let me tell you that sometimes this technology stuff just kills me. Well not literally, but mentally. I am the go-to girl at the office for fixing computer problems and it has been non-stop some days. It truly kills any creativity that might be stashed in my brain at that moment - LOL!

Being that I am not at the office right now and I wanted to share some beautiful eye candy I thought I would share this incredibly beautiful Inchie that Debbie Olson created for our newsletter this month. If you have not signed up for it you are most definitely going to want to, being it will be rare that I post any of the special creations that the girls design for that newsletter any other place. It is easy to do, just head over to our home page and scroll to the bottom of that page adding your email address to the "Join Our Mailing List" link.

So without further ado here is the Inchie that Debbie created for this month's Red, White and Blue challenge.

Debbie's Inchie copy

To create this stunning beauty Debbie cropped this month's Stamp of the Month, Picnic and colored it in using Copic markers. To read more about how to crop an image for an Inchie you can refer to an earlier post of mine C is for "Crop" - just scroll down through the post to read more about it.

Don't forget to send us your Red, White and Blue Inchie challenges - we are truly looking forwards to seeing your beautiful creations!!!

Red, White and Blue Inchie Challenge

I am SO sorry - life has completely gotten away from me and I have yet to post the Inchie Challenge participants and winners from last month's challenge. I promise you it won't be long though until that time. First I need to add them to the gallery and run the random number selector and I then can post the winner and get the prize sent out to our winner.

Being that I needed a creative fix I just decided to head to my now "fairly" clean new studio (pictures yet to come being I am a perfectionist and all and the space is not yet completed - LOL) and make my Inchie for the next challenge.

With the Fourth of July being right around the corner I decided to do a Red, White and Blue challenge. What does this mean to you? Be patriotic, think summertime picnic - I am excited to see what types of creations you will come up with this month. I have LOVED receiving the emails that share your Inchies with me - it is so fun to see how each of you present your Inchies.

Red_White_Blue 2

Here is my Inchie to share one of my ideas showcasing Red, White and Blue.

One of the elements I have not yet talked about in connection with Inchies is piercing. I love how you can add simple texture to an itty bitty creation with this element. For this trail I used one of my Ornare piercing templates to add a little "flight pattern" to the butterfly.

I simply colored the IB Butterfly in red and blue. Next I punched a piece of subtle patterned paper using a 1" punch. After piercing the pattern in the paper it was adhered using Perfect Paper Adhesive. The reason I have added this adhesive to my store is that it is one that I find works extremely well with small pieces of paper. You know how some adhesives make your paper soggy and a total mess, well this one is truly perfect for paper. I have always loved it and so I thought I would go ahead and introduce you to it now that it is important for adhering small pieces of paper without making a large, gooey mess. If you have been having issues with your "wet" adhesive I can highly recommend this one. It is one I keep returning too each time I try a new one, so I guess that says something about it's quality.

A few "sparkles" were added to the body and voila I now have the most perfect little magnet for our new fridge here at work that we are using as a bulletin board to "share the love" you girls have bestowed upon us.

Wall of Love

We would love it if you would share your Red, White and Blue Inchie Challenges with us this month to hold up our "love notes" here at work. I will then take a new picture of our fridge and share it all with you here on our Inchie INKling blog Ü As well your Inchie will then be entered in this month's challenge drawing for our little Inchie Good Bag.

So join the Inchie INKlings monthly challenge by creating an Inchie that is Red, White and Blue themed. Use an Itty Bitty, crop a large image, spotlight your Inchie on a card, create some Inchie jewelry - do whatever appeals to you!

Rules:

  • Feature a Lockhart Stamp Company image - you can use any other stamps, words, papers or embellishments, but use your Lockhart stamp image as the focal point for these challenges.
  • Picture must be emailed to us at customerservice@ellenhutson.com by July 15th, 2008. Please put June Inchie Challenge in the email subject heading.
  • Alternately send us your Inchie to add to our "Wall of Love" or include a self-addressed stamped envelope for it's safe return if you would like it back. Send to: Ellen Hutson LLC, 1145-12th Ave NW, Suite C2, Issaquah, WA 98027.
  • You may only enter once for this month's challenge.

We will do a random drawing of all participants once we get all images uploaded to the Inchie Challenge photo album. The winner of this random drawing will receive:

Stay tuned soon for the announcement of our Food Themed Challenge!

ETA - LOL! re the bunny ears - I didn't think of mentioning that those are the salt and pepper grinders we have at the office. Always easy to find this way Ü
