artist, designer, teacher, wife, and mom
Art has been a love of mine from a very early age. Since 2002 stamping, scrapping and paper crafting have become my passion.
At an early age I began expressing myself artistically; enjoying art, photography and design classes throughout high school and college. Graduating from college with Bachelors of Arts and Science, after studying interior design and education, I began pursuing my dreams.
My background includes teaching for three years and practicing interior design for fifteen. Fortune has smiled on me with top awards for my interior design work and clients that value my creativity. As with many things, making the decision to do what is best for my family brought me to the realization that staying home with my sweet girls and raising them myself was much more important than any career. Thus I set my interior design career aside to be a mom. Now that my daughters are in school pursueing an outlet for my creativity has brought me back into the working world. The training and experience I received as an interior designer has greatly influenced my work in the paper arts - the design elements pass from one art form to the next . Color, balance, focal point, accents - these all help formulate a balanced piece of “art” as well.
I love to experiment with different products, mediums and techniques, using rubber stamps to create cards, mini-scrapbooks, home decor and art pieces. As a concept artist and paper crafts instructor it is so very gratifying to be able to use my imagination – teaching, sharing creativity and inspiring that vision within others is a privilege. The pleasure of being a part of the “light bulb moment”, the moment when someone’s eyes light up because they have created something for the first time in their life or have created something that brings them joy, is truly rewarding.
People are remarkable, places are extraordinary – this business allows me the privilege of going places I might not otherwise go and meeting people I might not otherwise meet - all this and I can still be here for my daughters and husband. I am blessed!
gardening, stamps, people and places, interior design, ink and paper of course
